JAKARTA - Yayasan Upaya Indonesia Damai, also known as United In Diversity (UID), continues the distribution of medical mask assistance in an effort to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. On Wednesday (27/05) as many as 100 thousand masks were donated to the Tangerang City Government, and 25 thousand masks to the Tangerang District Government.
This contribution is part of the millions of medical masks that have been and will be donated by the Foundation which is fully supported by Gajah Tunggal Group to the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19, a number of local governments, the Indonesian Red Cross, TNI and Polri, as well as to community communities the other.
The President of UID, Mrs Tuti Hadiputranto expressed her highest gratitude and appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in general, the City Government and Tangerang Regency Government in particular, and all those who have put forth their best efforts to continuously overcome this COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Sugeng Rahardjo, President Director of PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk, also stated that the donation of masks through the UID Foundation is a form of concern and support for efforts to tackle the coronavirus pandemic. "We provide assistance not only to central government agencies, but also to a number of local governments. Moreover, the Tangerang area is one of the main centers of activity of Gajah Tunggal".
Mr. Rahardjo said that 10,700 aid packages had also been delivered to the community around the Gajah Tunggal factory and also other communities distributed through Banten Provincial Government, Tangerang city and regency, Serang regency, as well as through Korem, Polres, Koramil, and Jatiuwung District. "We believe that through strengthening social solidarity among stakeholders can accelerate the response of the COVID-19 pandemic.
