UID to Co-organize Partnership for Solutions Major Energy Workshop

The United in Diversity Foundation (UID) is honored to co-organize a UN SDSN (Sustainable Development Solutions Network) regional workshop on Priorities and Pathways for Sustainable Energy and Deep Decarbonization in Indonesia.

The workshop will take place at Hotel Aryaduta, Jakarta, Indonesia, on 26-27 November 2014.

As a by-invitation event, this workshop is co-hosted by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry led by Minister Siti Nurbaya and UN SDSN and organized by University of Indonesia, UID and Monash University, in partnership with the Carbon War Room, the Australia-Indonesia Centre and the Harold Mitchell Foundation.

The aim of the workshop is to bring together leaders from academia, public and private sectors, and civil society to discuss Indonesia's energy needs and the demand for decarbonizing and, thereby, find ways to meet these challenges effectively.

Planned with an outcome-oriented mindset, the workshop's two-day program will have a few major plenary sessions, but the rest of it will focus on workshop style group discussions in which participants are engaged in interaction with field specialists and leaders from all sectors to identify energy issues that Indonesia is facing and come up with collective efforts and initiatives to solve them.

Speakers at this workshop include ministers, such as Minister of Finance, and former ministers from Indonesia, regional government officials, such as the Governor of Jakarta and regional mayors, 20 scientists from Australia and Southeast Asia, the World-Bank Group, and international CEOs and NGO leaders.
