UID Newsletter 2nd Quarters 2008
Dear friends,Welcome to the 10th volume of our newsletter!
Since the last volume, there have been some great developments, and we are delighted to share them with you.
As mentioned in previous newsletters, we are pleased to inform you that we are now admitting fellows for the first class of our IDEAS (Innovative, Dynamic Education and Action for Sustainability) program. Conducted by faculty from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management, this program starts in August, 2008 and ends in July, 2009.
During this period, participants will be introduced to Systems Thinking and learn how to apply it to make innovative changes, whether they come from business, the public sector, or civil society. To know more about this program and download its application form, please visit our website at www.unitedindiversity.org
We are also pleased to share with you that in June UID co-hosted the Global Enterprise Challenge (GEC) 2008 with Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore Science Centre, and Young Enterprise Singapore.
Held in Singapore, the GEC is a 24-hour international challenge in which competing student teams from around the world are challenged to produce a prototype and a business plan for a commercially viable product or service to meet an objective set by NASA and Careers Scotland.
It is worth mentioning that, in this competition, the Indonesian team received very positive feedback from GEC international judges for its innovativeness, creativity and teamwork.
