Program Overview
Prof. Robert S. Kaplan, Emeritus Professor at the Harvard Business School and co-creator of the Balanced Scorecard, will deliver the keynote on Executing Shared Value, Delivering Positive Impact in Indonesia.

The conference will focus on how the public and private sectors through Shared Value can create strategies that leave a lasting Positive Impact. Prof. Kaplan and other leading expert professionals will explore how Shared Value operates as a key enabler to greater sustainable strategies that positively impact communities and businesses alike.

Our first session will focus on the private sectors current approach to Shared Value and will involve a mix of both local firms and multinationals from industries such as agribusiness, pharmaceutical, energy and consumer goods.

The second session will include panellists from government, foundations, aid agencies and multilaterals who will explore the various opportunities and challenges involved in adopting Shared Value as an enabler of Positive Impact solutions in Indonesia. This is an event not to be missed by members of the private or public sector as relevant case studies and strategy execution methodologies will be utilised to demonstrate the importance of embracing Shared Value as a key enabler of business and societal success.

This event aims to examine how to bring Shared Value initiatives to scale, engage the private and public sectors and identify the requirements needed to move these initiatives forward, define and measure success and establish best practices that combined deliver the expected Positive Impact to all stakeholders. Prof. Robert S. Kaplan
Robert S. Kaplan is the world’s leading authority on strategic performance measurement. He is a co-founder of both Palladium (and its predecessor firm, Balanced Scorecard Collaborative). He advises Palladium practitioners on emerging best practices and speaks at Palladium events around the world.

Kaplan joined the Harvard Business School faculty in 1984, after spending 16 years on the faculty of the business school at Carnegie Mellon University, serving as its Dean from 1977 to 1983. He received a B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in operations research from Cornell University. He has received honorary doctorates from the Universities of Stuttgart (1994), Lodz (2006), and Waterloo (2008).

Kaplan was co-developer of both activity-based costing and the Balanced Scorecard. He has authored or co-authored 19 books and more than 150 papers including 23 in Harvard Business Review. Recent books include The Execution Premium: Linking Strategy to Operations for Competitive Advantage (2009), the fifth Balanced Scorecard book coauthored with David Norton, and Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing with Steve Anderson.

Agenda: The conference will focus on Shared Value and Positive Impact and explore how Shared Value operates as a key enabler. Following Professor Kaplan's Keynote, the conference will feature two panel discussions. The first discussion, focused on private sector and shared value. The second will explore the various opportunities and challenges involved in enabling positive impact in Indonesia.
