We return to Bali

During the Asian Tsunami in 2004, UID contributed to international relief efforts, and our director Frans Sugiarta applied the U Theory and Systems Thinking in dealing with the crisis.

Since the Bali conference, our collaboration with the three sectors from Indonesia and the world has borne fruits: Initially with the support of Giti Group, UID sponsored three Indonesian representatives including the chief representative of UID foundation Frans to the ELIAS program led by MIT Sloan faculty Otto Scharmer and Peter Senge in collaboration with World Bank and other tri-sectors partners.

Innovation and collective learning was at the core of this leadership program. World Bank former President James Wolfensohn has also been an important force in the founding of UID.
