Remarks by H.S.H Prince Albert II

Dear Ms Nursalim, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,

It is indeed a pleasure to be here with you all this afternoon, and thank you so much for your hospitality and for the opportunities given to me to give a remark.

I am sorry to be so pressed in time--as you know the IOC (International Olympics Council) has been working very hard and it is a long session, and fortunately I can make to this gathering.

I speak for most of the people in Monaco, who have this feeling in this project. We felt very proud and extremely thankful to United in Diversity, DCAB, Zero to One foundation and every body who is involved in this project.

I think it is an illustration of how well people with different ideas who are willing to help and trying to respond to this unspeakable tragedy. How some people, who went through it can make this a united and cohesive project from their ideas. And it works!

I've seen the banner within the villages thanking us. That really is a reward to Monaco. I would like to thank also Francesco and the Monaco Asia Society for managing and coordinating this job and funding the different network. Thanks also the Harvard Business School alumni network that helped bridge those links.

Many years ago, things would be different in terms of communication. Because now our world is smaller through different means and through different ways, what happens on one side of the planet does have an impact thousands of miles from it.
The people of Monaco felt the same way that the people in the world did; we were deeply touched by the tragedies that happened last December and also last March. Thanks to closer communications that allowed us to respond to this and try to help.

So, thank you all very much for making this possible, and I hope that we will be able to cooperate once again probably on other projects.

I am really deeply touched with all this recognition that you given to Monaco, and all the gifts that you have already given to me. This is really the best, to see smiles on the faces of children, parents and families that we help. Thank you very much!
