United in Diversity supported by The David and Lucile Packard Foundation succeeded in graduating the first batch of the BEKAL (Bersama Kelola Alam Adil Lestari) Pemimpin.
This event was attended by Sofyan Abdul Djalil, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, Lestari Moerdijat, Deputy Chair of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly, Amatius Awaitow, Jayapura Regent, Representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, Muhammad Farhan from Commission I of the DPR and UID founder at the Annex Building, Jakarta (05/12).
A total of 58 participants consisting of Academics, Government, Business Actors, Donor Institutions, Media, Communities and NGOs, have produced nine prototypes that are expected to be a solution for sustainable natural resource development after participating in learning since last July.

The BEKAL Pemimpin program is a capacity building program for leaders to grow and support a new generation of natural resource managers in all sectors of society. Through strengthening local and national leadership capacity, participants are invited to accelerate the creation of policies and innovate models of natural management that are just, sustainable, and local wisdom driven by alumni together with relevant stakeholders.
